To you, person, who thought Houston wasn’t dynamic enough. For you, person, who thought the leaves couldn’t change colors in Texas. For you, person, who just thought Texas was an unpleasant place to be before you stepped into the boundaries. For you, who didn’t open their eyes and see what’s to be offered… Understandable scared of belts and cows for you to stray is unfortunate. For you, who doesn’t see past the ice melting in front of you, to be short sided and one wayed in the ways custom to your own; it will be upon you in the inevitable future. For you…. Who just doesn’t see yet is one of selfish and narrowed scope.
It’s Snowing in Houston, TX – What Can Your Dog Do In The Snow?
So today Houston get’s snow! What an amazing event for Houston as most of the northern states haven’t even had as much as a snow flake. Since this is such a rare event, I thought I’d let my dog Haley share in the extreme excitement the city was buzzing about.
As I bring out my video camera to capture such a momentous occasion of Haley’s first time in the snow, I wasn’t quite ready for the show I was about to get…
Take a look.. the first minute and a half is pretty slow going.. but it picks up towards the end… Stay with it.

So I Paid a Homeless Guy to Hold My Sign…
This past weekend was a our investor training for Texas Home Buyers Network. We had a ton of new information to share with them and a lot of great interaction through out the 12 hours of training. I spoke for a few hours on marketing. Specifically, how to find motivated sellers and the MANY different ways to achieve that. We came to a section titled : “Creative Marketing”. There was a whole list of awesome ideas I gave them. One, which I’m not sure is politically correct or not, but I’m going to throw it out there. I told our students that if they were having trouble keeping their bandit signs out before the county picked them up they could hire someone to hold their sign for a few hours and possibly hand out some flyers at the same time.
So to prove my point to the students, I went out and put some signs out for marketing our upcoming seminar where we teach people how to buy property without using cash or credit. Anyways, I saw a homeless person on the side of the road asking for some cash. I quickly thought, “what a great idea, I can pay him to hold my sign for me”. I jumped out of the car and handed the guy two bucks and asked him to hold for an hour for me.
By the time I had jumped in the car, I had remembered what our signs said to attract people to call us.. Take a look at the picture… Do you think I’m sending some mixed messages… eck!!!
Creative marketing… Keep your thoughts broad and imagination running wild!

Product Creating…still
The hour glass on my computer is still turning and I’m still burning away! I’ve made it to my last DVD ( I hope ). All in all, I think the product is turning out awesome. I had some doubts about the video quality and if I was able to get the HD to come through, but somehow I managed to jump over the hurdles and the quality is excellent. After the burning, I guess I’m going to extract the audio from the video and create mp3’s for people to be able to download them to iPod’s and listen in their cars. I’m guessing it won’t be too much of a process to do that. After creating the mp3’s, I need to find a transcriber to transpose all of this information into a book format. Since people learn in many different ways, I want to make sure to accommodate everyone so they know the secrets of OPM by the time they get done reading, watching or listening to the course.
Having a little trouble coming up with the book cover and marketing slicks to go along with everything. I’ve got a couple ideas, but nothing solid so far. We have training tomorrow and Sunday, so I’ll be working on the marketing look then and should have something posted by late Sunday or early Monday.

Creating Product
Sitting here burning our second DVD from the OPM Bootcamp I’m wondering why it’s taken so long. So here’s what I’m doing. I have the raw video footage from the event that I’m throwing in windows movie maker so I can edit it a little. Once completed, I publish the video which brings up Windows DVD maker. After spending an hour changing around the menu title, colors and music, I realize I should really move forward to something more productive. The time has come…the burn button is pushed in by a click of a mouse and off we go. The excitement builds. A new screen pops up which shows me the progress of our first DVD. Here we go, I think to myself, won’t be long now!
I Slowly come back to reality as the hour glass on the new screen is moving at a snails pace. Thinking to myself, this can’t be right, it’s taking way to long. 10 minutes later, 20 minutes later, 45 minutes later… still not complete. So as I sit here with the hour glass about ¾ the way complete, I’m wondering……. How many hours of DVD’s do I have to do?
In the long run, it’ll all be worth it as we begin our journey down the internet product industry as so many have done before us. I just hope we’re not too late. We have been so successful teaching people how to invest in real estate without using cash or credit using our seminars that this internet product will be a no brainer for people on a national level.

To Tweet or to Twit
I’m commonly asked ( on a daily basis ) why do you tweet on twitter? (if I even said that correctly). Most of the general population just doesn’t understand the power of social media. Especially in the gen x era where all us “kids” are all over the internet in every shape or form we can find. Don’t you know it’s the “in” thing to do? Social media ( which really just is another way of marketing YOU ) is everywhere. I’m a firm believer that the more people who see and recognize YOU, the better off you’ll be in the long run.( that is, if you have something to offer people ). I may not have a definitive answer for why I twitter, but I do have an answer for why I use social media. If you have any entrepreneurial spirit in you, it’s easy to grasp. Entrepreneurs, such as myself, have always dedicated time each day to work on acquiring their NEXT business, scoring their NEXT customer, generating the NEXT dollar and meeting as many people as they possibly can. Social media gives entrepreneurs a stream lined way to achieve meeting people not only in their city, not only in their state but on a national level to engage in conversation with like minded individuals who will help them achieve their “next”.
